BFA supply medical cover for Tae Kwon Doo world championships 2010
"Best ever medical cover" - TAGB

Watch the Channel Five Gadget Show on February 28th 2011!

Event medical cover from a recognised organisation is an essential requirement for public events under Health and Safety requirements, and is normally a condition of your public indemnity insurance.

Belvoir First Aid is a local community medical charity based in the Vale of Belvoir and surrounding villages which offers event first aid cover to local fetes, events and other meetings where medical cover is required. We also undertake comprehensive first aid training including training in how to deal with Sudden Cardiac Death, as well as everyday first aid. Our model has proved to be very successful with events such as the Stathern Festival, various 10k, marathon and cycle races, village fetes, Garthorpe races and other events being covered by our volunteers. We also covered the VIKING CHALLENGE in October 2007/8/9/10, and again this year, and the BeaverFest Triathlon in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. New for 2010 was the cover of British Showjumping events locally. In total in 2010 we covered 107 events, that's two a week, including some high visibility national events! We estimate this will rise again in 2011!

The ethos behind BFA is that as volunteers with first aid certifications and higher, we can give something back to our communities through the provision of a local service, in this case first aid at local events. We also assist in planning and risk assessment of the event, and provide a written report after. We only ask that a donation be made to cover our costs and insurance. We can also co-ordinate first aid training to local village groups through partnerships with HSE approved First Aid training organisations. In 2009, the new Health and Safety (offenses) 2008 Act comes into force and this will mean that even more events will have to use medical cover and mandatory.

We are enormously grateful for the support the Vale has given us. In particular thanks to local parish councils, local businesses and to all those that have helped financially or in kind. Thank you in advance for any further assistance you can give us for the coming year.

We need more volunteers. If you have a valid First Aid certification, or are a Nurse, Paramedic, Ambulance Technician or Doctor, come and talk to us. Even if you have nothing, we will train you!

To contact us, or make a donation, please do so through the web site contact form or by calling 07967 699612.

If you are not familiar with our charity and your first contact with us is online: We would be pleased to hear from you! Please let us know what your needs and questions are, we will be more than happy to help.
