BELVOIR FIRST AID wishes everyone a Prosperous 2008
Winner of Melton Times / Ragdale Hall 'Make it Happen' award 2007
Belvoir First Aid is a local charity based in the Vale of Belvoir and surrounding villages to offer free event first aid cover to local fetes, events and other meetings where the event is too small for the main first aid agencies. This has proved to be very successful with events such as last years Stathern Festival, the 10k race, Eastwell fete, Garthorpe races and other small events being covered by our volunteers. We also covered the VIKING CHALLENGE on October 7th 2007 and the BELVOIR CHALLENGE on 23rd February 2008.
The ethos behind BFA is that we as volunteers with first aid certifications can give something back to our communities through the provision of a local service, in this case first aid at local events. We also assist in planning and risk assessment of the event. We only ask that a donation be made to cover our costs and insurance. We can also co-ordinate first aid training to local village groups through partnerships with HSE approved First Aid training organisations.
We are enormously grateful for the support the Vale has given us in reaching our target to acquire a 4x4 event ambulance and first aid caravan. These were seen for the first time at the Viking Challenge on the 7th October. These are great resources to be available to the Vale villages but will cost £5000 + a year to run, plus an additional £5000 approx to run all the community projects for 2008. We are therefore very grateful to all those that have helped financially and for any further assitance you can give us for the coming year.

We need more volunteers. If you have a valid First Aid certification, or are a Nurse, Paramedic, Ambulance Technician or Doctor, come and talk to us.
